What you'll do...
The Facilities Engineering Technician is responsible for the operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repair of the facility's equipment and systems.
Day to Day, you'll...
• Troubleshoot and repair the building's systems and equipment including although not limited to, plumbing systems, electrical components, mechanical equipment, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, grounds equipment, and other duties that are assigned.
• Assist with installation and modification of the building equipment and systems
• Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, and painted walls, etc.
• Troubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and assist with implementing savings opportunities
• Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in the facility and ground maintenance
• Respond immediately to emergencies and customer service requests as assigned.
• Inspect the building's grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
• Assist with maintaining and operating the building's fire and life safety systems such as; Fire alarm systems, fire pumps, and related fire protection systems equipment as assigned
• Perform snow removal duties when necessary including after-hours.
• Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and the practice of safe work habits
• Ability to use technology such as; smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems, etc.
• Complete all required company safety training as scheduled.
• Comply with the department's uniform dress code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance on the property at all times.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to the team...
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • There may be times when the candidate is the only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; This candidate may be required to work extended periods when responding to priority/emergencies (including mandatory overtime assignments); This position requires the candidate to participate in the department's on-call rotation.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others and exchange accurate information; operate a computer and other office productivity equipment; move about the workplace; remain in a stationary position for 10-20% of the time; and extend hands and arms in any direction. Ability to lift 75 lbs, work from ladders, and work outdoors in all climate conditions.
  • Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in at least one of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, controls, mechanical troubleshooting/repair.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel & Word.
  • 2 years of work experience
